Coral
Coral qualified as a teacher in Britain after obtaining her
Final Diploma as a Translator and Interpreter in Spanish –
English from the Institute of Linguists, London (Honours
Degree) and TESOL Certificate from Trinity College London.

She started her career teaching languages in secondary
schools in Suffolk and Essex, England, 18 years ago followed by
some time in Egypt before finally joining the Bilingual Project
British Council – Spanish Ministry of Education (M.E.C.) 11
years ago.
Coral is currently teaching infants and understood the
importance of Synthetic Phonics teaching after achieving high
standards of literacy and from having the chance to train
teachers at the British Council, Madrid together with Sue Lloyd
(co-author of 'Jolly Phonics').
Coral advises state and private schools, Local Authorities and
institutions from infants to primary.
She has developed units of work incorporating Synthetic
Phonics into the Spanish Ministry of Education – British
Council Integrated Curriculum. She also collaborates with
various Spanish Universities including the University of
Valladolid and University College Worcester as a tutor and
trainer of British students and also the University of Alcalá
in Madrid.
Coral trains teachers at the British Council: Madrid,
Portugal, Egypt and takes part in a children´s programme for
Spanish television promoting Synthetic Phonics.
